About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in the management and clinical leadership of our Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Supervise, develop, and deploy staff to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Lead the management of the Emergency Department, including the coordination of patient care and the management of resources.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate expertise in a relevant specialty or area of practice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent team-working and leadership skills.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Nursing diploma or degree.
  • Registered nurse with Emergency Department experience.
  • MINTS minors.
