Maternity Coordinator

**The Role**:
The postholder will carry continuing responsibility for the organisation, coordination and management of ward areas, community and neonatal unit and the effective deployment of staff on a shift to shift basis. S/he will be involved in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical care within all patient areas of the maternity service by acting as the clinical expert and support to the multi-disciplinary team whilst ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire’s policy and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC. S/he will provide managerial support to the Senior Charge Midwife/ and Practice Development Midwife whilst developing and maintaining clinical skills in practice. To provide safe, effective centred person care.

**What we'll need you to bring**:
- Registered Midwife with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
- Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
**It would be great if you also have***:
- Extensive midwifery/nursing experience
- Experience in taking charge of ward, planning, implementing and evaluating care throughout midwifery/neonatal career
**Contract type**:
Permanent
Part Time
23 hours
**Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.**
**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Maternity within University Hospital Wishaw.
The working pattern for this role will be Rotational Shifts.
