Role OverviewWe are seeking a Head of Tax Oversight to become part of our Retail division. This position is pivotal in leading the team responsible for ensuring that the L&G Retail business meets all operational and product tax obligations across the full spectrum of products and services provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tax compliance protocols that align with the Group Tax Strategy and legal requirements, ensuring adherence to all tax obligations within the Retail business.
- Oversee the tax compliance protocols across the Retail sector to confirm that they maintain control over all operational and product-related tax responsibilities.
- Ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence to all operational and product tax obligations by all personnel in relevant Retail areas.
- Manage significant tax risks associated with Retail, ensuring they are mitigated through a governance framework; inform Group Tax of any breaches that may necessitate disclosure to HMRC.
- Lead and manage issues escalated from the Retail business or Group Tax, ensuring the execution of recommendations to enhance tax compliance where appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of tax legislation impacting Retail by collaborating closely with the central Group Tax team and seeking guidance on any areas of uncertainty regarding HMRC regulations.
- Ensure that all products and propositions offered by Retail perform optimally from an operational tax perspective, aligning with the needs and objectives of customers in the target market to deliver favorable customer outcomes.
- Manage the team in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, as well as the Partnership Agreement, to consistently achieve the team's business objectives.
