Position OverviewWe are seeking a Head of Tax Oversight to lead our Retail function. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the L&G Retail business adheres to all operational and product tax obligations across our entire range of offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tax compliance protocols in alignment with the Group Tax Strategy and legal requirements, ensuring adherence to all tax obligations within the Retail sector.
- Oversee the tax compliance measures across the Retail division to ensure they effectively manage all operational and product-related tax responsibilities.
- Ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence to all operational and product tax obligations by all relevant personnel within Retail.
- Identify and manage key tax risks associated with Retail, ensuring they are mitigated through a robust governance framework; inform Group Tax of any potential breaches requiring disclosure.
- Lead and manage issues escalated from the Retail business or Group Tax, ensuring that recommendations for optimizing tax compliance are implemented where necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of tax legislation affecting Retail by collaborating closely with the central Group Tax team and seeking guidance on any areas of uncertainty regarding HMRC regulations.
- Ensure that all products and propositions offered by Retail meet operational tax expectations, aligning with the needs and objectives of our target market to deliver positive customer outcomes.
- Manage the team in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, as well as the Partnership Agreement, to consistently achieve the team's business objectives.
