Job Title: Junior Merchandiser

As a Junior Merchandiser at JD Group, you will play a key role in driving sales and revenue growth through effective trade and strategy execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review previous seasons and produce a SWOT analysis with supporting information to inform future buying decisions.
  • Create a category-level product mix using historical data, SWOT analysis, and SMT plans to optimize sales and revenue.
  • Work with the Senior Merchandiser to formulate the space and grading plan for store distribution, ensuring optimal stock levels and visual merchandising.
  • Ensure that the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and KPIs are signed off with the Senior Merchandiser.
  • Manage the order books and stock seasonality within the WSSI to ensure accurate information and optimal stock levels.
  • Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identifying issues and proposing actions to recover risk and maximize opportunities with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer.
  • Work up the forecast from category/season level to Buyer Group, incorporating forecasting any sales variance to plan, creation of OTBs, management of commitments, and markdown proposals.
  • Manage the range plan in season, reflecting any changes, and manage linecards and intake at category and line level.
  • Visit and understand the store base on a regular basis, creating action plans to optimize store performance and manage store option plans to ensure each store has the optimum amount of stock.
Requirements:
  • Reporting to the Senior Merchandiser
  • Working with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer to deliver the plan
  • Guiding and directing the Merchandising Team to help deliver the plan
  • Communicating to the Retail Team anything that will impact on store performance
  • Establishing working relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, Finance, and DC
