We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Merchandiser to join our team at JD Sports. As a Junior Merchandiser, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of our trade and merchandising strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Planning: Review previous seasons and produce a SWOT analysis with supporting information to inform future trade and merchandising decisions.
- Create a category-level product mix using historical data, SWOT analysis, and sales and marketing plans.
- Work with senior merchandisers to formulate space and grading plans for store distribution.
- Ensure that the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and KPIs are signed off with senior merchandisers.
- Manage scheduling and inventory levels to ensure accurate information is always in the system.
- Attend key selection meetings with senior merchandisers and buyers to discuss trade and merchandising strategies.
- Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identifying issues and courses of action for weekly trading meetings.
- Propose and agree actions to recover risk and maximize opportunities with senior merchandisers and buyers at category and line level.
- Capture all agreed actions in monthly forecast reviews.
- Work up the forecast from category/season level to buyer group.
- Meet and gain approval for forecasting sales variance to plan, creation of OTBs, management of commitments, and markdown proposals.
- Report to senior merchandisers and work with them to deliver trade and merchandising plans.
- Guide and direct the merchandising team to help deliver trade and merchandising plans.
- Provide and monitor development plans for assistant merchandisers and merchandise assistants on a regular basis.
- Communicate with the retail team about anything that will impact store performance.
