We are currently seeking a Housing Assistance Specialist to join our team at Oscar Underhill Recruitment Solutions Ltd. This role focuses on providing essential support to individuals facing homelessness and mental health challenges, as our organization continues to grow its impact across the UK.
As part of our expansion efforts, we are looking for dedicated professionals to enhance the quality of service we offer to those in need.
Position Overview:The Housing Assistance Specialist will work with individuals experiencing homelessness on a temporary to permanent basis.
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional late shifts required.
Compensation: Competitive pay rate of £11.50 PAYE or £14.66 per hour Umbrella.
Qualifications:
- Experience in preventing homelessness among young individuals in independent living situations.
- Enhanced DBS check covering both Child and Adult workforce is mandatory.
- A valid UK Driver's License and access to a vehicle are essential.
In this position, you will collaborate with the under 25's rough sleepers' team to positively influence the number of individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly those with care experience.
- Engage closely with Personal Advisors to reconnect young individuals with their respective Local Authorities when contact has been lost.
- Assist young people in maintaining their current housing or securing alternative accommodations to prevent homelessness.
- Foster positive social networks to help individuals sustain their housing and independence, reducing the likelihood of returning to homelessness.
- Support young individuals in their journey towards employment, training opportunities, and developing essential budgeting skills.
This role is vital in providing support to vulnerable individuals, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to thrive in their living situations.
