This establishment focuses on students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), and is devoted to delivering exceptional care and educational support to enable every child to flourish.

The Role:

As an ATA, you will be instrumental in providing support to both learners and educators, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and customized assistance to thrive. You will collaborate closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every student can achieve their maximum potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Support: Aid in the preparation and execution of lessons, working with small groups or individually with students to reinforce their learning and help them navigate any challenges they encounter.
  • Compassion and Understanding: Demonstrate empathy and insight towards students with SEMH requirements, cultivating trusting relationships that promote their emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Partner with educators, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that the care and educational strategies for each student are effectively implemented.
  • Behavioral Guidance: Assist in managing classroom behavior, employing positive reinforcement and various strategies to support students' emotional health.
  • Professional Growth: Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance your expertise and understanding of working with children with special educational needs.

What We're Seeking:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in educational settings is essential. Experience with children having special educational needs, particularly SEMH, is highly preferred.
  • Empathy and Patience: A genuine commitment to supporting children with SEMH needs, approaching challenges with patience and understanding.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for each student.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the diverse needs of students, ensuring that each child receives optimal care and education.
  • Qualifications: ATA status or equivalent qualification is required.
