Position Overview:

Teaching Personnel is in search of committed and empathetic SEND Teaching Assistants to become part of our team, providing support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in various educational settings. This role offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about positively influencing the educational journeys of young learners.

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver personalized assistance to students with diverse SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning challenges.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement engaging lessons tailored to the needs of all students.
  • Execute individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management techniques.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages the social and emotional growth of students.
  • Track and communicate student progress to the classroom teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
  • Provide supervision during breaks, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in educational or care environments.
  • A calm, patient, and understanding demeanor when interacting with children.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the varying needs of students.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
