Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Payroll Administration:
    • Oversee the execution of monthly payrolls for five distinct legal entities within the UK and Republic of Ireland, leveraging automated payroll data interfaces with Workday HR administration system and manual data feeds for non-integrated items.
    • Ensure the accuracy of overtime hours data and applicable pay rates.
    • Manage the reporting of taxable stock award transactions through payroll (gains on exercised options / RSU vestings).
    • Review draft monthly payroll run files for accuracy and completeness, resolving any errors or discrepancies.
    • Provide final approval for monthly payrolls.
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll.
  • Process monthly payroll-related payment requests (for various payroll deductions) and ad hoc employee salary advances.

Payroll Reporting:

  • Oversee the annual submission of payroll reports to HMRC.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual taxable benefits reporting (P11d's).
  • Calculate and submit annual Class 1a / 1b National Insurance Contributions (NIC) liabilities.
  • Prepare annual stock option / RSU reporting to HMRC (Form 42).

Internal Controls:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Team on the reconciliation of payroll-related balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely clearance of outstanding items.
  • Complete defined Sarbanes Oxley controls and maintain formal documentation.
  • Support both internal audit (Sarbanes Oxley controls) and external audit (PWC) processes.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers.
  • Oversee supplier performance.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal HR Teams, Finance, and operational management.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the Payroll Team.
  • Assist with TUPE transfer arrangements, group reorganizations, system upgrades, and other projects that impact payroll operations.
