About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our team at Atlas Workplace Services. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch maintenance services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Management: Ensure a safe working environment for all staff and comply with our Health & Safety plan.
  • Client Interface: Provide a site-level interface between our engineers, subcontractors, contract coordinators, contract managers, and clients.
  • Team Supervision: Directly supervise the site engineering team to deliver a coordinated, supportive, and effective service.
  • Service Management: Manage an effective and efficient service position that delivers contract compliance across various delivery streams.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Contract Manager to ensure efficient, cost-effective solutions are achieved across all spheres.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Policy: Embed our Group Health & Safety Policy in day-to-day area operations and challenge bad behaviors.
  • Client Requirements: Interpret and respond to all client requirements, including those not part of the contract.
  • Communication: Act as a conduit between site CREWS teams, engineers, and the contract manager.
  • Customer Liaison: Understand what is important to the client, identify significant issues, and build action plans to manage these for the customer.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure full ownership and accountability.
  • Independence: Work independently with minimal supervision, using initiative as the contract manager is remote.
  • Data Analysis: Compile and analyze data sets as required.
  • Communication and Support: Provide effective communication and support to the contract coordinator and contract manager.
  • Customer Feedback: Support the contract manager and central function with customer feedback, complaints, and escalations.
  • Administrative Procedures: Act as a central point of governance for administrative procedures, ensuring the team follows agreed processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical skills to understand and interpret results, ensuring effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee projects with support from others.
  • Travel: Able to travel to other QVC sites as required.
  • Toolbox Talks: Conduct and record toolbox talks with engineers.
  • Risk Assessments: Ensure all Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and COSHH risk assessments are kept up to date and renewed when required.
  • PPE Checks: Conduct regular PPE checks for the engineering team to ensure all PPE is safe to use and record as necessary.
  • Training: Identify team training requirements and request delivery through the line manager.
  • Technical Maintenance: Deliver technical PPM and reactive maintenance on your own responsible tasks, ensuring the rest of your team delivers theirs.
  • Team Supervision: Advise, train, and supervise your engineering team, ensuring any given KPIs are met, utilizing company procedures and disciplinary processes where necessary.
  • Engineering Standards: Ensure engineering and personal standards are kept high for both engineers and engineering spaces.
  • Subcontractor Management: Liaise with subcontractors attending site for any works, ensuring health and safety and engineering standards are met.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: NVQ level 3 in given trade(s), fully time served apprenticeship in given trades (desirable), ILM 2 Award in Leadership and Management (desirable), IPAF (site dependent), PASMA (site dependent) (desirable), accredited Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely) (desirable), Asbestos Awareness, Legionella Awareness.
  • Experience: 1 year's experience of working with asset/work management systems such as MAXIMO/CAFM systems, 1 year's experience in a supervisory position with an engineering maintenance company or equivalent, familiarity with Android-style tablets and laptop computers, experience in supervising multi-skilled engineers in a facilities management environment, previous experience within similar environments and in particular across area multi-sites and multi-discipline service delivery.
  • Skills: Computer literate, good understanding of modern office software, customer and client focus, sub-contractor management, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong analytical skills, ability to travel to other QVC sites as required.
