Job Title: Teaching Fellow in Infrastructure, Civil, Structural, Environmental Engineering or Architecture

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Fellow to join our team in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and advising undergraduate, postgraduate, and CPD students within their subject area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and advise undergraduate, postgraduate, and CPD students within own subject area and within a programme, managed supervised by a member of staff with ultimate responsibility for the design, delivery, and assessment of the programme.
  • Facilitate the delivery of research and capacity-building programmes relevant to the programme.
  • Contribute to licensing or spin-out deals with demonstrated commercial success and/or public understanding of the discipline.
  • Develop curricula, CPD, and modules in Civil Engineering, infrastructure, restoration, and rehabilitation of structures and critical infrastructures according to the programme.
  • Supervise research and educational activities relevant to the programme.
  • Be able to travel to Ukraine to identify and assist a number of Ukrainian universities to update existing or develop new syllabuses.
  • Pursue personal research, including developing research ideas, and acquiring support, including financial support around the scope of the MOOC, CPDs, Microcredentials, and other education-related activities of the programme.
  • Supervise and examine MSc students, while promoting a culture of inclusion and diversity.
  • Develop and contribute significantly to knowledge transfer, enterprise, business engagement, public engagement, widening participation, and outreach while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Develop a number of new taught modules in structure and infrastructure engineering and programme proposals and make substantial contributions to the design of teaching programmes in the Department or School, incorporating EDI principles.
Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD in Civil and/or Structure and/or Infrastructure and/or Environmental Engineering and/or Architecture.
  • Higher degree relevant to research or teaching area or equivalent qualifications.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
