Job Title: Teaching Fellow in Infrastructure, Civil, Structural, Environmental Engineering or Architecture

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Fellow to join our team in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and advising undergraduate, postgraduate, and CPD students within their subject area, as well as contributing to the design, delivery, and assessment of programs.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Teach and advise students within their subject area, under the supervision of an academic member of staff.
  2. Contribute to the development of curricula, CPDs, and modules in Civil Engineering, infrastructure, restoration, and rehabilitation of structures and critical infrastructures.
  3. Develop and deliver Massive Open Online Courses and Technology Enhanced Learning materials, as well as supervise research and educational activities relevant to the program.
  4. Travel to Ukraine to assist Ukrainian universities in updating existing or developing new syllabuses.
  5. Pursue personal research, including developing research ideas and acquiring support for education-related activities.
  6. Supervise and examine MSc students, promoting a culture of inclusion and diversity.
  7. Contribute to knowledge transfer, enterprise, business engagement, public engagement, widening participation, and outreach, while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  8. Develop new taught modules in structure and infrastructure engineering and contribute to the design of teaching programs, incorporating EDI principles.

Person Specification:

  1. Fluency in Ukrainian and English (desirable for the delivery of the project).
  2. PhD in Civil and/or Structure and/or Infrastructure and/or Environmental Engineering and/or Architecture.
  3. Higher degree relevant to research or teaching area or equivalent qualifications.
