Job Title: Mobile Plant Operative / Loading Shovel Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Plant Operative / Loading Shovel Driver to join our team at AWD online. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our loading shovels, as well as other mobile plant equipment, to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate and maintain loading shovels and other mobile plant equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  2. Manage and load incoming and outgoing aggregates, ensuring accurate stock control and monitoring.
  3. Feed, operate, and maintain the aggregate screening plant, reporting any issues that may arise.
  4. Work in an efficient and productive manner, with minimal supervision, to ensure high-quality products and services.
  5. Assist Shift Supervisors in maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly stock control and monitoring.
  6. Maintain a high level of awareness regarding Health, Safety, Welfare, and Security matters, leading by example and taking a proactive approach.
  7. Check and ensure the quality of stock products, reporting non-conforming materials as necessary.
  8. Conduct daily inspections of the loading shovel and wash as required.
  9. Ensure the plant and site are maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
  10. Be willing to undertake training and learn new skills to enhance efficient operations.
Requirements:
  1. Competent with ITSSAR or equivalent qualifications in the operation of loading shovels.
  2. Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  3. Mechanically minded, practical, with a good attitude to housekeeping and cleanliness.
  4. Demonstrable experience of taking responsibility at work and excellent reliability.
Desirable:
  1. Experience within a Manufacturing site, ideally the waste, aggregates, or concrete environment.
  2. Competent with other forms of mobile plant, i.e., FLT, MEWP, and Telehandlers.
  3. Ability to offer ideas and thoughts for discussion to promote improvements in the process.
  4. Formally trained in Health & Safety or Environmental.
