About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railway Section Manager to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of railway maintenance and renewal projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and inspect the quality of work delivered by our teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work procedures, method statements, and other instructions to ensure the safe execution of projects.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement work plans that meet business objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure the team is equipped to meet the demands of the role.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in railway maintenance and renewal, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and protocols, with the ability to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a customer-focused approach.
