Electrical Cost Estimator needed for a reputable electrical and security services provider, recognized for delivering planned preventative maintenance and project works in various regions.

With a legacy of 50 years, this organization has transformed from a modest family-owned enterprise into a well-regarded small to medium-sized enterprise.


Their clientele encompasses prestigious corporations, including top-tier sports teams, as well as governmental bodies such as educational institutions, universities, healthcare facilities, critical research laboratories, and local authorities.

Additionally, they cater to a broad spectrum of commercial and private enterprises, maintaining ongoing contracts for both electrical and security solutions.

Position Overview


The successful applicant will possess a background in the electrical sector, with skills in interpreting and executing electrical designs, material quantification, and liaising with clients and suppliers.

This role requires collaboration with a dedicated team of estimators and project managers to fulfill the requirements of both existing and prospective clients.

  • Experience in tendering electrical projects valued between £20,000 and £1,000,000.
  • Leading the adoption of new estimating software.
  • Engaging in term contracts, fully specified projects, and design & build initiatives.
  • Conducting take-offs from drawings and interpreting specifications to align with project needs.
  • Coordinating with wholesalers and subcontractors for quotations, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Position Requirements

  • Proficiency in estimation software (Eque- Evaluate).
  • Electrical City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications.
  • Preferred qualification in electrical engineering HNC, though not mandatory.
  • A solid grasp of Construction Design Management (CDM).
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced Excel.
  • Experience or knowledge in the CCTV and Security sector is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
Remuneration

  • Provision of a laptop, IT equipment, and mobile phone.
  • Annual holiday entitlement of 24 days plus public holidays.
  • Participation in the JIB Health care scheme.
  • Fixed Christmas bonus contingent on performance.
