Job Overview

As a pivotal member of our Aviation Power division, this role offers an exciting opportunity to advance your career as a technical leader in a dynamic industry. Known internally as a Lead Systems Engineer, you will oversee the Systems Verification Engineering team, tasked with the testing and troubleshooting of a cutting-edge electrical power distribution system for business jets within our Electrical Power Integration Centre (EPIC). This position is crucial for the development of safety-critical software, and you will be guided by experienced engineers to enhance your capabilities in Safety of Flight and Certification verification activities.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
  • Manage the initial requirements and interfaces, establishing design baselines for software, hardware, and testing teams.
  • Effectively handle changes from customers while supporting project technical leadership.
  • Engage in a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth as the team transitions from design definition to verification and final delivery.
  • Broaden your expertise by taking on responsibilities during the Verification and Integration phases, focusing on developing a lab environment for troubleshooting and testing.
  • Utilize your Systems Engineering knowledge to analyze test results, implement modifications, and conduct hands-on testing in high-power environments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A background in aviation, automotive, or similar embedded systems development, demonstrating familiarity with industry standards such as ARP4754A.
  • A degree or HND in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics, or a related field, showcasing strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with the systems design lifecycle, including the ability to capture and document system and testing requirements.
  • Knowledge of verification strategies and test equipment, contributing to the creation and execution of systems tests.
