Job Summary:

VANRATH is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to join our team in Belfast. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Manage and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Oracle RAC Administration: Administer and support Oracle RAC environments, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Database Tuning and Optimization: Perform database tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to optimise database designs and queries.
  • Oracle Software and Tools: Implement and manage Oracle software and tools, including RMAN, Data Guard, and ASM.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance and proactively address any issues.
  • Data Integrity and Security: Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organisational policies.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Oracle DBA in a professional environment.
  • Expertise: Expertise in Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and other Oracle technologies.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
  • Familiarity: Familiarity with Oracle Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
