SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant

About the Role
Hays Specialist Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with Special Educational Needs in a temporary capacity. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for the student.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 care and support to the student with SEN, including those with physical or mental impairments, learning difficulties, ADHD, or ASD.
- Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and managing school equipment.
- Record and report students' progress to the teacher.
- Help students stay focused during class hours and support teachers in managing student behavior.
- Work with students to improve core skills such as reading and writing.
- Liaise with teachers and other support staff to ensure the student's needs are met.
Requirements
- At least 40 days of experience as a Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
- Genuine interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs.
- Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using computers and handheld devices.
- Ability to work calmly and constructively under stress.
