Job Summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Plant Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant's availability, reliability, and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plant Availability and Reliability: Ensure the plant is running safely and effectively, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
  2. Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the future reliability of plant equipment and systems.
  3. Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve recurring plant issues to maximize uptime and minimize costs.
  4. Engineering Standards: Analyze and implement engineering-based non-standards to improve plant efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Safe Working Practices: Ensure safe working practices through the development and implementation of method statements and risk assessments.
  6. Process Improvements: Identify and implement plant and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  7. Engineering Spend Control: Monitor and control engineering spend to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  8. Contractor Management: Engage and manage contractors to ensure effective delivery of plant maintenance and improvement projects.
  9. Collaboration with Maintenance and Operations: Liaise closely with maintenance and operations teams to maximize opportunities during plant downtime.
  10. Cost Savings and Energy Efficiency: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and energy-efficient solutions to reduce plant operating costs.
  11. Technical Coaching: Coach maintenance staff on technical issues to ensure effective plant operation.
  12. Incident Reporting: Produce technical reports on plant incidents and dangerous occurrences.
  13. Equipment Knowledge: Possess knowledge of test piece furnaces and laboratory testing equipment, as well as cranes and lifting equipment.
  14. Design and Development: Develop risk assessments and method statements, and redesign equipment and implement modern engineering systems and solutions.
  15. Design Software: Be competent in AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software.
