Job Summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Plant Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of plant operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to maximize uptime.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plant Availability and Reliability: Ensure that plant operations are running safely and effectively, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
  2. Future Planning and Maintenance: Develop and implement plans to ensure the future reliability of plant operations, including identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues.
  3. Investigation and Resolution of Plant Issues: Investigate and resolve recurring plant issues to maximize uptime and minimize downtime.
  4. Engineering Non-Standard Analysis: Analyze and resolve engineering-based non-standard issues to ensure compliance with company standards.
  5. Safe Working Practices: Ensure safe working practices through the development and implementation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).
  6. Plant and Process Improvements: Identify and implement opportunities for plant and process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  7. Engineering Spend Control: Control and understand engineering spend to ensure effective use of resources.
  8. Contractor Engagement and Control: Engage and control contractors to ensure effective completion of tasks and projects.
  9. Liaison with Maintenance and Operations: Liaise closely with maintenance and operations teams to maximize opportunities during plant downtime.
  10. Cost Savings and Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost savings and energy efficiency through plant improvements and energy-saving initiatives.
  11. Technical Coaching and Support: Provide technical coaching and support to maintenance staff as required.
  12. Unplanned Production Outages: Identify and plan work to avoid unplanned production outages.
  13. Technical Reporting: Produce technical reports on dangerous occurrences and plant incidents.
  14. Test Piece Furnaces and Laboratory Testing Equipment: Have knowledge of test piece furnaces and laboratory testing equipment.
  15. Cranes and Lifting Equipment: Have knowledge of cranes and lifting equipment.
  16. Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Be capable of developing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  17. Equipment Redesign and Modernization: Redesign equipment and implement modern engineering systems and solutions.
  18. Design Software: Be competent in AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software.
