About the Role:

Spire Healthcare is seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join their Estates and Engineering department on a bank contract. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including maintenance, grounds, and portering duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, and minor repairs to the internal and external structure of the facility.
  • Keep the grounds and car park clean and tidy, ensuring they are free from litter and properly swept.
  • Assist with the unloading of heavy deliveries and move furniture and other items within the hospital as required.
  • Collect and transport mail, notes, equipment, and other requested items between Spire Healthcare sites.
  • Work with the porters and engineers to ensure the smooth running of the hospital.
  • Undertake additional tasks as requested by the Estates Manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on maintenance and grounds work.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, with an open and friendly nature.
  • Able to complete highly physical tasks, including cleaning and moving furniture.
  • Ability to work without supervision and at your own initiative.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends.
