Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Education (SEN), Employment, Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor to join our team and provide legal support on a range of matters related to the Council.

The Role:

In this diverse and fast-paced role, you will assist the Legal Manager (People Services) and the Education/Employment/Litigation team in providing a comprehensive legal service to the Council, Directorates, Committees, and Members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and representation within Tribunal for a diverse portfolio of Special Educational Needs & Disability law.
  • Advise on Employment Teams and Litigation matters such as Employment Tribunals and debt recovery.
  • Support the team to ensure all needs of the service are met.
Requirements:
  • Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive, or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation and debt recovery, preferably in Special Educational Needs and Education.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, good presentation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to critically analyze diverse information.
