About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Credit Management team as a Credit Management Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the sales ledger, including credit control, sales ledger maintenance, query resolution, and day-to-day account management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for Environment, Health and Safety initiatives within the team and collaborate with the wider department and EHS function.
  • Support the Credit team in uploading data received from customers.
  • Perform daily credit management tasks in accordance with company policy, including releasing credit held orders, stopping accounts, managing customer deductions, and communicating with customers.
  • Ensure timely chasing of outstanding debts, including raising debt chasing letters, statements, and telephone chasing.
  • Drive down overdue debts in line with targets set.
  • Accurately allocate incoming payments within defined timescales and investigate any unallocated payments, liaising with customers for confirmation.
  • Perform administrative tasks within a defined timeframe, including responding to correspondence related to accounts, ensuring credits/debits and uplifts are carried out accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records on SAP, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded against the relevant account.
  • Maintain a well-organized filing system for ongoing work and ensure safe custody of all relevant documentation.
  • Be an active member of the credit management team, supporting colleagues as required.
  • Carry out ad hoc work as needed to ensure all functions for the department are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Resolve queries efficiently and escalate where necessary.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong Business Analysis skills, with evidence of understanding business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
  • Proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a meticulous approach to tasks.
  • Successful experience managing multiple tasks, with evidence of prioritizing tasks and small projects to meet demanding deadlines.
