Position Overview: We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology to become part of a dedicated and innovative multidisciplinary team specializing in pediatric gastroenterology.

Service Description: Our institution offers a comprehensive, high-quality tertiary service in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition across the region. This role is intended to provide coverage for an extended period due to staff absence.

Workload: The position is for 0.7 WTE, with potential for additional compensated work.

Qualifications Required: Candidates must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be nearing completion of their CCT in general pediatrics. A minimum of two years of specialized training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition from an accredited institution is essential. Preference will be given to those who are on or eligible for the GMC sub-specialty register in Pediatric Gastroenterology.

Location: The role is based within a prominent children's hospital, part of a larger healthcare trust that encompasses multiple facilities in close proximity to urban and academic centers.

Team Dynamics: The successful candidate will join a cohesive and forward-thinking team that delivers high-quality tertiary services to the region, specifically addressing long-term staff shortages.

Clinical Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive care, including inpatient, outpatient, day case, and ambulatory services to pediatric patients referred to the department. They will serve as the lead consultant for their patients and are expected to adhere to the trust's policies to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • CCT or equivalent in Pediatric Gastroenterology or nearing completion
  • Full GMC specialist registration in Pediatric Gastroenterology
