Position Overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Locum Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology to become part of a dedicated and innovative multidisciplinary team specializing in pediatric gastroenterology. This role is essential in delivering high-quality tertiary services in the South West region.
Role Expectations
The successful candidate will join a team of six consultants to provide coverage during a period of extended absence. This position is expected to last for a minimum of six months, with the potential for additional compensated work. Candidates should hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be nearing completion, along with a minimum of two years of specialized training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition from an accredited institution. Eligibility for the GMC sub-specialty register in Pediatric Gastroenterology is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
This locum position involves delivering comprehensive care in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. The consultant will be responsible for:
- Providing inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory care to pediatric patients.
- Acting as the lead consultant for assigned patients, ensuring adherence to Trust policies for high-quality care.
- Participating in clinical governance, teaching, and research activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to teamwork and leadership, which will be evaluated during the selection process.
