Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Critical Care to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our critical care services.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients. This will include assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

You will also be responsible for participating in clinical governance activities, including audit and quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.

Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise
  • Either on the specialist register or within six months of obtaining a CCT in Intensive Care Medicine
  • FFICM or EDIC or DICM
Desirable Criteria
  • Other higher degree or diploma
  • FUSIC or FICE

  • Friendly and polite disposition, open and approachable
  • A team player that values the individual contributions of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and punctual
  • Able to work in stressful situations and/or when under pressure
  • Able to work 'flexibly' and a willingness to work outside working hours at short notice in times of need
