About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join our team at Howett Thorpe. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Head of Finance and contributing to the smooth operation of our financial functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable Management: Manage the daily running of the Accounts Payable function, resolving queries with suppliers and setting up payments in a timely manner.
  • Invoice Processing: Check and process all invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Bank Payment Runs: Set up and manage bank payment runs, ensuring efficient and accurate payment processing.
  • Credit Control: Raise invoices and oversee the small Credit Control function, ensuring timely and accurate payment collection.
  • Month End Management Accounts: Assist with the month end management accounts process, generating necessary figures and reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the Head of Finance in completing any necessary financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile the bank account on Xero, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a finance/accounts position, with a strong understanding of financial operations and procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Working experience of Xero, with a strong understanding of accounting software and systems.
  • Qualifications: AAT or QBE qualifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
