Job Summary:

Torchlight Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Electrical or Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical or mechanical systems for large-scale Government and MOD buildings/projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake all aspects of electrical or mechanical design, including developing project specifications and producing details of specifications and outline designs.
  • Liaise with engineers across the M&E discipline and Building Services to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Communicate projects critical issues in a timely manner to Directors and clients.
  • Mentor graduates and technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Actively engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and facilitate personal and career development.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working on large building projects (£5M+).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or Revit experience).
  • Minimum of HNC in Building Services, and ideally CIBSE or IET existing member.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with Microsoft Project experience desirable.
  • Electrical or mechanical design engineering experience in the building services, construction or similar industry.
  • Hevacomp experience along with SBEM calculations would be highly desirable.
  • Experience in BMS & Controls.
  • Experience in BIM desirable but not essential.
