Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Supervisor
Location: Pontypool
Salary: £45,000 per annum

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday days regular

The Recruitment Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join a dynamic team in Pontypool on a full-time, permanent basis.

This position requires on-site presence in Pontypool, where you will be responsible for managing the manufacturing workflow, ensuring that production timelines are adhered to, supervising a team of production personnel, and enforcing quality assurance protocols.
Collaboration with various departments will be essential to your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Oversee daily operations of the production team, including performance reviews and management meetings.

  • Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with visitors and clients.

  • Incident Reporting: Report any safety hazards or incidents to the designated safety officer.
  • Housekeeping Standards: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the workplace.
  • Work Allocation: Manage and distribute tasks among shop floor personnel based on their skills and availability.
  • Training Coordination: Organize external training opportunities for team members seeking to enhance their skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives aimed at improving shop floor operations and housekeeping practices.
  • Lean Initiatives: Assist in implementing strategies for lean manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • ILM Level 3 or higher in management.
  • Proficient in problem-solving techniques.
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • ECDL or comparable IT proficiency.
  • Educational background equivalent to GCE/GCSE.
  • Experience in supervisory or management roles within a manufacturing context.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to foster positive working relationships.
  • Experience in driving health and safety initiatives on-site.
  • Effective people management skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HND in Engineering.
  • Level 5 in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Internal auditing certification.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational abilities.
