Position Overview

The NBI Partnership is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to contribute to groundbreaking research in the field of genomics and environmental adaptation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary research aimed at exploring the genomic and cellular mechanisms that enable vertebrate species to adapt to various environmental pressures.
  • Oversee the generation and analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic datasets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve project milestones.
  • Serve as a technical expert and resource for ongoing research initiatives.

Key Collaborations

  • Internal: Work closely with group leaders, the Director, and various science faculty teams.
  • External: Engage with collaborators and stakeholders from both academic and industrial sectors.

Main Duties

  • Perform research tasks utilizing molecular biology and bioinformatics methodologies.
  • Design and implement analytical workflows for processing omics data.
  • Draft research findings, reports, and manuscripts for academic publication.
  • Participate in collaborative research efforts and assist in grant proposal submissions.
  • Present research outcomes at conferences and meetings.
  • Maintain research integrity and adhere to institutional policies and legal standards.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
  • Skills: Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, genomic analysis, Linux operating systems, and shell scripting.
  • Experience: Previous involvement in genomics or genetics-related projects is essential.
  • Communication: Strong ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Additional Qualities: Detail-oriented, flexible with working hours, and committed to promoting diversity and the values of the institute.
