Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Perfusion Scientist to join our multidisciplinary team within the Cardiothoracic Directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive specialist clinical and technical perfusion service during routine and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in the development of department protocols and research.
  • Offer a first-class service in all aspects of adult cardiac perfusion.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner and within the wider team.

Requirements
  • Good working knowledge of routine and specialized clinical techniques.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and clinical hazards.
  • Up-to-date with latest developments in perfusion science.
  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of clinical equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Qualified Perfusionist.
  • Current accreditation with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of GB and Ireland.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience of delivering specialist training to others.
  • Presentation at multidisciplinary team meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, and audit meetings.
  • Familiarity with electronic data management.
