Position Overview

The Cancer Services Team is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to enhance our efforts in meeting and maintaining cancer care standards. This full-time, permanent role will involve working across various tumour sites, providing essential support during periods of absence within the team. The position is primarily based at a central hospital location, with occasional travel to other facilities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and leading weekly Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. Training will be provided across all MDTs, ensuring comprehensive understanding of patient pathways from referral through diagnosis and treatment. Key tasks include:

  • Preparing and facilitating discussions for MDT meetings, ensuring all necessary patient information is readily available.
  • Collecting and entering data related to cancer outcomes, waiting times, and audit requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate tracking systems for patients referred under urgent cancer protocols.
  • Liaising with various departments to ensure timely investigations and treatment plans are executed.

Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience within the NHS, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in using hospital data systems and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
