About the Role

Glasgow Life is seeking a highly skilled Economic Analyst to join our team on a permanent full-time contract. As an integral part of our team, you will provide a range of economic development functions, including data analysis, impact modelling, and policy research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct economic analysis and profiling activities to inform business decisions
  • Develop and implement project and programme appraisal and evaluation activities
  • Design and deliver business cases, including logic models and evaluation plans, cost-benefit analysis, and economic impact assessment
  • Undertake primary and secondary research activities to inform economic development strategies
  • Provide analysis and evaluation of information to support reporting, evidence-based recommendations, and service delivery
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency through interrogation and analysis
Requirements
  • Education to degree level in Economics or a related discipline, or proven applied experience
  • High-level presentation and communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Advanced data handling and analysis skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet performance targets
  • Experience in economic development data analysis and econometrics/quantitative analysis
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of national, regional, and local economic policy/context
  • Ability to present complex information in clear and accessible formats
