About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon, Clinical Lead to join our dedicated team at Blue Cross Grimsby Animal Hospital. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in managing our busy hospital caseloads and supervising specific clinical areas to ensure the smooth operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Clinical Areas: Oversee the workload in clinical areas such as theatres, clinics, inpatients, or wards to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Deliver High-Quality Care: Deliver high-quality first opinion small animal care, including consultations, diagnostics, surgery, inpatient care, emergency, and critical care.
  • Handle Complex Cases: Handle complex clinical cases, adhering to Blue Cross Clinical Guidelines.
  • Mentor and Support: Mentor and support newly qualified veterinary graduates through our Vet GDP program, setting clear development goals and conducting regular assessments.
  • Lead Improvements: Lead small groups in implementing improved ways of working and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure Excellent Client Care: Ensure excellent client care, including managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
  • Demonstrable Small Animal or Mixed Practice Experience
  • Sole Charge Experience
  • Proven Experience in Mentoring or Coaching Veterinary Professionals
  • Understanding of the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (Vet GDP) and its Requirements
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Leadership Skills to Effectively Support and Inspire New Graduates
  • Ability to Demonstrate, Understand, and Apply Our Blue Cross Values
