Job Summary

About the Role

As a Pharmacy Services Assistant In Training, you will be responsible for working across various sites, including dispensaries, stores, and aseptic units. Your duties will include receiving consignments from suppliers, checking and booking into the Pharmacy Computer System, and performing routine stock control procedures. You will also be required to work with different professions, performing a variety of tasks while working to strict deadlines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Working to relevant SOPs and undertaking a GPhC accredited Level 2 qualification
  • Required to work in dispensaries, stores, aseptic units, and on wards/clinical areas
  • Receipt of consignments from suppliers, including checking and booking into the Pharmacy Computer System
  • Deal with returned goods from customers and process paperwork according to SOPs
  • Carry out routine stock control procedures
  • Perform necessary clerical tasks associated with the service
  • Participate in regular stock-takes according to departmental procedures
  • Contribute to the ward & department medicines top-up service
  • Pick and pack orders for distribution, under supervision
  • Pack and process materials for sterilization
  • Over-labelling of commercial packs
  • Deliver medicines to wards and departments, ensuring compliance with Trust Medicines Management policies
  • Maintenance of work areas and good housekeeping in accordance with the appropriate procedures
  • Operation of specialist equipment powered stacking equipment, aseptic tray washer, tablet packaging equipment etc
  • Cleaning aseptic facilities and equipment in accordance with SOPs
  • Transfer waste (pharmaceutical and household) to the appropriate collection points, according to procedures
