About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Pharmacy Services team as a Senior Pharmacy Services Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing support to our pharmacy team in the preparation and dispensing of medicines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmacy support duties, including stock control, labelling, assembly, preparation, dispensing and receipt and distribution of pharmaceuticals within Aseptic services.
  • Work across site, at each of our Aseptic Units (LGI and SJUH), working with a number of different professions, performing a variety of different tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines.
  • Prepare CIVAs, Chemotherapy and Parenteral Nutrition using aseptic technique inside an isolator, whilst working in a clean room environment.
  • Assist in the induction and training of new members of staff once fully competent in the role.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a pharmacy.
  • Knowledge of good customer care.
  • Experience of stock control systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to interpret written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to supervise and give instruction to Pharmacy support workers.
