Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Conflicts Lawyer and Advisor to join our team at Taylor Root. This is a fully remote role that requires a strong background in conflicts management and business acceptance.

About the Role:

The Senior Conflicts Lawyer will be responsible for assisting with potential conflict of interest issues firm-wide, while playing an integral role in the firm's client-matter intake process. This involves developing search strategies, conducting reviews and analyses of conflict of interest and confidential information issues, and assessing conflicts compliance with relevant rules of professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement search strategies to identify potential conflicts of interest and confidential information issues.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of conflict of interest and confidential information issues arising from complex potential and existing matters, new clients, potential lateral hires, and firm responses to RFPs.
  • Assess conflicts compliance with relevant rules of professional conduct and the firm's own conflicts policies.
  • Identify, analyze, and facilitate resolution of potential commercial conflicts of interest issues with lawyers and professionals firm-wide.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for other colleagues and provide guidance on conflicts-related matters.
  • Draft and review conflicts-related language for client engagement letters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree and/or LLB. Prior demonstrable, substantive, and significant conflicts experience under the SRA or US rules is essential, with a minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably more.
  • A prior fee-earning background of minimum a few years at an international business law firm is highly desirable, but not essential.
