Job Title: Production Manager - Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager - Operations to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of production within the section to deliver an effective and efficient operation against daily and shift targets and plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Production Operations: Lead and manage all aspects of production within the section to deliver an effective and efficient operation against daily and shift targets and plans.
  2. Line Leadership: Manage the Line Leaders to achieve daily output, yield, packing efficiency and quality requirements for each product run, ensuring that out-load times and volumes are achieved at all times.
  3. Training and Development: Identify any training needs within your team and liaise with the training team to address these gaps.
  4. Efficiency and Quality: Monitor pack rates against targets and pro-actively look for ways to make the business more efficient, while ensuring that all operational matters are owned and resolved efficiently and in line with all legal requirements.
  5. Communication and Collaboration: Work alongside other Managers to ensure communication, best practice and efficiency is continually reviewed and improved upon.
  6. Health and Safety: Ensure that the highest standards of safety, hygiene and housekeeping are maintained, and that the required levels of training are achieved and that Company standards and procedures are followed at all times.
  7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all BRC requirements for the site are met and adhered to and that the site is kept to an auditable standard at all times.
  8. Labour Management: Liaise with other Production Shift Managers to agree numbers and arrange ordering of agency staff on a day to day basis.
  9. Forward Planning: Support the Operations Management Team in the forward planning of labour and machine usage.
  10. People Management: Ensure that all people issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively in line with Company Policy.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Experience of team leading in a fresh produce/food production environment.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Experience in a labour-intensive, high volumes environment ideally FMCG.
  3. Quality Focus: Experience of working in a quality focused role.
  4. Results Orientation: Experience delivering teams to set KPI's.
  5. Machinery Knowledge: Knowledge of Top seal, Flow wrap or punnet line machinery.
  6. Communication Skills: Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment.
  7. Planning and Organisation: Good planning and organisational skills.
  8. Interpersonal Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Results Focus: Results focused.
