As a Garden Maintenance Assistant, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the daily upkeep of the garden while upholding exceptional presentation standards. This position encompasses a variety of hands-on tasks aimed at enhancing, nurturing, and managing the garden, as well as contributing to project execution. Work Environment

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Gardener. The Gardens team consists of two Garden Maintenance Assistants working alongside three Gardeners, each responsible for one of three designated areas: Borders, Lawns and Estates, and Kitchen Garden and Nursery.

Key Responsibilities

Daily tasks may involve assisting with the planting and care of shrubs and borders, mulching, hedge trimming, and lawn mowing. You will work closely with gardeners and a team of volunteers, engaging with the public daily by answering various garden-related inquiries and sharing your work with enthusiasm. We seek individuals who approach their tasks practically, ensuring the completion of daily responsibilities while demonstrating a genuine interest in horticulture. The role may present physical challenges, and you will utilize a variety of machinery and equipment to accomplish your tasks. Familiarity with machinery such as tractors, hedge trimmers, and pedestrian mowers is essential, although training will be provided.
