Job Summary:
The Wakefield Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Casual Youth Support Staff to join our Early Intervention & Prevention Service team. As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting vibrant youth groups and exciting programs within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality youth work, including group activities, detached outreach, individual support, and residential programs.
- Contribute to the provision of informal education through diverse and engaging programs.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Prioritize the wellbeing and safety of young people by actively promoting the safeguarding agenda and sharing relevant information with Line Manager/Team Manager.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people is highly valued.
- Genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the well-being and development of youth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What We're Looking For:
- Availability: Candidates need to be regularly available, especially during the late afternoon/early evening and school holidays.
- Mobility: The ability to travel easily around the community is essential.
