Job Title: Youth Worker

Engage Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team at a special school in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with learners who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those with Autism.

As a Youth Worker, you will provide support to students who struggle to engage in education or have mild learning difficulties in Key Stages 1-4.

You will work closely with the Behaviour Team to enhance the students' development and provide effective pastoral support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students 1:1 or in small groups to promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement in education.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to ensure effective support.
  • Assist students in adapting to their needs in lessons and provide clarification on instructions.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with people with learning difficulties.
  • SEN education setting experience is ideal.
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
