About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Consultant to join our team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Critical Care Consultant, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical management for critically ill patients in our critical care unit and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical cover for our eleven bedded Critical Care Unit, with the ability to flex to 18 beds in times of clinical need.
  • Work collaboratively with our existing team of substantive Critical Care Consultants to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes and reduce morbidity and mortality.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Provide teaching and training to medical and para-medical colleagues to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Full Registration with the GMC and a Licence to Practise.
  • CCT (or equivalent) with entry on Specialist Registers for Intensive Care Medicine and the Associated Specialty or within six months of anticipated CCT date.
  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • An appropriate higher qualification such as a post graduate qualification.
  • Minimum of 1 year worked within NHS.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • FFICM.
  • EDIC.
  • Strong interest and experience in ICM.
  • Eligibility to be a GMC recognized Clinical Supervisor.
  • Active regular participation in teaching and training of medical and para-medical colleagues.
