Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Intervention Tutor to provide one-to-one support to children with Special Education Needs (SEN) in a flexible work arrangement. As a SEN Tutor, you will work with children who require face-to-face support at their homes, care homes, or local areas, developing their knowledge in Maths, English, and Science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, nurturing sessions to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Apply skills to raise pupils' confidence and learning, ensuring they can access the learning materials.
  • Manage behavior and implement a range of behavior strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track pupils' progress, providing feedback and adjusting the learning plan as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to supporting the child's needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a teaching assistant or one-to-one capacity.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions, adapting to the individual needs of each child.
  • Strong behavior management skills, with experience in implementing behavior strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with parents and carers.
  • Current DBS certificate (update service registered) and willingness to undergo background checks.
