Position: Personal Advisor


We are currently seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor to join our team at Fox Morris Group Ltd. This role is pivotal in providing support to young individuals transitioning from care to independent living.

Role Overview


As a Personal Advisor, you will play a crucial role in the Early Help & Children's Social Care sector, ensuring that children and families receive timely and effective support. Our commitment is to facilitate a nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop secure relationships.

Main Responsibilities
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of a Personal Advisor in accordance with the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.
  • Assist care leavers in their journey towards independent living within the community.
  • Collaborate with various agencies to guarantee that young individuals leaving care access high-quality services.
Key Duties


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a professional social work service within a multi-agency framework, assessing the needs of children and their families in line with statutory requirements.
  • Providing guidance to young people in care, particularly those with Transition Plans for independent living.
  • Offering ongoing support to care leavers, helping them develop essential life skills and addressing issues related to accommodation, income, health, education, and training.
  • Advocating for young individuals with external agencies, empowering them to negotiate effectively within their communities.
  • Supporting young people in maintaining familial relationships and fostering positive connections with peers.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating plans for young individuals, taking an active role in implementing their Pathway Plans.
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Gathering feedback from young people regarding the services provided and representing their perspectives.
  • Engaging with relevant teams and participating in inter-agency forums.
  • Contributing to team development by sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues.
  • Participating in regular supervision and personal development planning.
  • Assisting in coverage for absent colleagues as needed.
  • Adhering to the requirements set forth by The Children Act 1989 and The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.
  • Undertaking additional duties as directed by management.
