About the Role

As a Tenancy Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing emotional support, advice, and responding appropriately to chaotic and challenging behavior. You will also help maintain tenancies and ensure rent arrears policies are administered. Additionally, you will provide a responsive intensive housing management service, including supporting with personal budgeting, debt management, and claims for welfare benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to vulnerable adults to help them sustain their tenancies
  • Work closely with Housing Support Workers to ensure service users are claiming the correct benefits and paying their rent on time
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans to meet the unique needs of each service user
  • Liaise with line managers to ensure effective referrals, voids, and vacant properties management

Requirements

  • Experience supporting people sustain their tenancies, working with vulnerable people who have been subject to homelessness or substance misuse
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with service users
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service
