Bath College is seeking a highly skilled SEN Learning Coach to provide exceptional support to SEND Learners on vocational courses. The successful candidate will work closely with the College's Inclusion Staff to ensure that learners with EHCPs receive the necessary support to access their learning program and achieve successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Support: Assist with initial, diagnostic, and other assessments to identify the needs of SEND Learners.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Work in close liaison with the College's Inclusion Staff to provide effective support to identified Learners.
- Strategic Planning: Proactively identify strategies to meet the needs of learners and promote the use of assistive technology to enable independence.
- Support and Guidance: Provide effective support for Learners, including 1:1 support, classroom support, out-of-class support, and on visits and study trips.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor learners' progress and provide timely feedback on learners' development, which may be included in reports to parents, carers, employers, and other external agencies.
- Adaptation and Interpretation: Adapt and interpret teaching and instructions for learners as appropriate.
- Individual Learning Plans: Pro-actively contribute to and implement Individual Learning Plans, monitoring achievement against targets, including EHCP outcomes.
- Physical Support: Provide physical support to students where appropriate, e.g., carrying and organizing equipment, supporting learners using wheelchairs, toilet hoists, etc.
- Personal Care: Assist Learners to use the toilet as appropriate and provide personal care where required.
- Time Management: Follow agreed weekly timetables, keeping Outlook calendar up to date.
- Review and Evaluation: Contribute to reviews of support as appropriate throughout the year.
- Qualifications: Maths and English GCSEs Grade A* to C or equivalent.
