Job Title: SEN Learning Coach

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Learning Coach to join our team at Bath College. As a SEN Learning Coach, you will play a vital role in providing excellent support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the college.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with initial, diagnostic, and other assessments to identify students' needs and develop effective support plans.
  • Work closely with the College's Inclusion Staff to provide tailored support to students, enabling them to access their learning program and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proactively identify strategies to meet students' needs and promote the use of assistive technology to enhance independence.
  • Provide effective support to students, including 1:1 support, classroom support, and out-of-class support, such as lunch and breaks.
  • Monitor students' progress and provide timely feedback on their development, which may be included in reports to parents, carers, employers, and other external agencies.
  • Adapt and interpret teaching and instructions for students as necessary.
  • Contribute to and implement Individual Learning Plans, monitoring achievement against targets, including EHCP outcomes.
  • Provide physical support to students where required, such as carrying and organizing equipment, supporting learners using wheelchairs, toilet hoists, etc.
  • Assist students with using the toilet as needed and provide personal care where required.
  • Follow agreed weekly timetables and keep Outlook calendar up to date.
  • Contribute to reviews of support as necessary throughout the year.
Essential Requirements:
  • Maths and English GCSEs at Grade A* to C or equivalent.
