About the Role

Lanxess UK is seeking a skilled Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at our Trafford Park site.

Main Responsibilities:

  • C&I Engineering: Provide control and instrumentation support for the Lanxess Trafford Park site, including management and support of site PLCs, SCADA system, and Distributed Control System (Delta V and Fisher Provox).
  • Design and Commissioning: Design, commission, and manage the installation of instrument loops, ensuring compliance with current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation, Lanxess Regulations/Standards/Guidelines, and professional standards.
  • Operations Support: Provide fault finding, software interventions, training, alarm management, and process improvements for Operational Technology Systems, including OSI Soft PI.
  • Compliance and Safety: Supervise and provide technical guidance to the Site Management Team for operational, safety, and regulatory compliance for all levels of control & instrument installation, investigate SIS failures, and provide solutions where required.
  • Project Management: Manage C&I project pipeline, support annual budget planning and Financial Investment Approval processes, and project manage own small site CAPEX projects.

About You

  • Experience in a similar position with around 3-5 years of experience working on a COMAH site.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Proactive and enjoy a mix of being out on plant and getting your head down to focus on projects.
  • Degree in Engineering discipline (controls or instrumental) and Chartership or working towards.
  • Previous experience with Delta V is essential, Fisher Provox experience desirable.
  • Cost awareness and have managed maintenance and capital budgets.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of common C&I regulations (e.g., IEC 61511, ATEX).
  • Knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environment Legislation and Engineering Standards.
  • A good understanding of maintenance processes and experience of plant engineering activity.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
