Job Title: Maintenance Lead Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Lead Engineer to join our team at Tata Steel UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the maintenance activities of our process equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers and technicians to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of process equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to identify and prioritize maintenance activities based on business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of maintenance services.

Requirements:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant electrical trade, ideally obtained through a recognized craft or modern apprenticeship scheme.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with a strong background in electrical maintenance and fault finding within a heavy engineering or industrial environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
  • Computer literate, with experience of maintenance management and IT systems.
  • Ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies, with a desire to learn and develop.
